Hannah and Jon’s July 12, 2025 wedding in Colorado’s San Juan Mountains is pretty much everything we love about micro weddings. With fewer than 10 of their closest loved ones, a mountain backdrop covered in summer wildflowers, their dog by their side, and a vacation rental reception, they kept the entire day simple and completely personal. They even made their own flowers that morning and did their own hair and makeup. It’s proof that you really don’t need a huge guest list, elaborate production, or packed timeline to make your wedding day feel incredibly special. Sometimes, the best celebrations are the ones that leave the most room to actually enjoy the day.
A Wildflower-Filled Micro Wedding in the San Juan Mountains
Wildflowers, Mountains & Their Favorite People
With fewer than 10 loved ones there, Hannah and Jon were able to make the most of the San Juan Mountains without turning their wedding into a production. The mountain views and wildflowers did plenty of the decorating, creating a backdrop that felt way more special than anything they could have brought in themselves. Keeping the guest list small also meant they could actually slow down and spend time with the people who mattered most, instead of trying to make their way around a room full of guests.
Their Dog Was Officially Part of the Day
Of course, their dog had to be involved. 🐾 Instead of having a traditional wedding party or bringing in a big team of vendors, Hannah and Jon made their pup their witness. It’s one of those little details that says everything about the way they approached their wedding: personal, meaningful, and centered around the people (and pets) they actually wanted there. Because honestly, if your dog is one of your favorite family members, why wouldn’t they be part of the ceremony?
A Vacation Rental Reception
After the ceremony, Hannah and Jon took off for a private picnic before meeting back up with their closest loved ones at their vacation rental for dinner. Rather than booking a traditional reception venue, they turned their home base into the celebration and shared a homecooked meal together. It was relaxed, intimate, and felt more like a really special dinner with the people they love than a formal wedding reception — which was exactly the point. No packed timeline, no rushing from one event to the next, just good food, their favorite people, and plenty of time to enjoy being married.
