Tory & Natalie's Snoqualmie Falls Micro Wedding

Real Micro Wedding submitted and photographed by Nadia at Venture Ever After

Tory and Natalie had an incredible micro wedding at a beautiful lodge in Snoqualmie, WA. Their micro wedding included many aspects that make these unique and a good fit for those who aren’t looking for a traditional experience! The couple chose an incredible location, included many special details, and even chose to do things their way when it came to things like getting ready!

For them, it was all about creating a day that reflected their personalities and love for the Pacific Northwest. The couple chose to have their 50-person micro wedding at the beautiful Salish Lodge, a contemporary mountainside getaway. The location's proximity to hiking trails allowed them to have a  pseudo-elopement day. Prior to the ceremony and reception, they hiked up to Snoqualmie Falls to enjoy time to themselves and finish getting ready. Nadia of Venture Ever After, who helped with scouting the location, setting the timeline, and vendor recommendations, was on hand to capture every moment of this special part of the day. Their overall theme was adventurous, romantic, a little vintage, and had a very Pacific Northwest vibe.

The couple wanted to keep things simple yet unique, including many family heirlooms and traditions. Natalie's dress was her grandmother's from the late 1950s, also worn by her mother, which made it extra special, and Tory's ring was Natalie's paternal grandfather's. The couple chose to provide small bottles of maple syrup as gifts as a nod to their time together in grad school in Victoria, BC, which is where they met (this is an excellent example of an eco-friendly favor option!).

The ceremony was beautiful and unique, with Natalie's “uncle” as the officiant and other family members speaking. The ceremony site at the lodge was on the patio overlooking the falls and river, which made for dramatic lighting during the ceremony due to the fires that year. After the ceremony, they had a reception, including a cocktail hour, a sit-down dinner, and special toasts from family and friends. They enjoyed a traditional wedding cake that was beautiful and simple with an adorable cake topper—two pine cones, one with a veil and one with a top hat!

The guests got a little entertainment watching the shoe game where the bride and groom put their knowledge of one another to the test in front of all the guests—the whole room was roaring with laughter.

Their vendor team was fully hired, including Salish Lodge as the venue and catering, a hair stylist, florist, and a suit vendor. Their photographer, Venture Ever After, not only documented their wedding day but also helped with planning and making recommendations from location scouting to timeline creation.
